Beside the Russian enclave Sankovo-Medvezhe in Belarus, this Belgian enclave H12 is the most northern situated enclave in the world. The distance between enclave H12 and the Belgian mainland is the greatest compared to the other Baarle enclaves.
Enclave H12 is situated in the “Hof van Baarle”, a unique vineyard of 2.5 ha grapevines, partly on Belgian but mainly on Dutch territory. The border of H12 is demarcated by the Belgian tricolor. As the winery itself is located in the Netherlands, it only produces Dutch wine. Belgian and Dutch grapes from the vineyard are mingled when processed in the winery. The wine bottles’ labels indicate: “Protected Geographical Indication of North-Brabant”, a European labelling of protected designations products.
